Vietnam, Hoi An: The Village of Magic Lanterns

From the first minutes of our visit, I found that Hoi An is one of the most colorful, authentic and beautiful places in Vietnam. But nightfall it turns into a true fairy tale: the canals flourish with the magic lights of numerous lanterns! Local people are good judges of this kind of thing – the lantern craft of Hoi An has existed for 300 years. 

Craftspeople sell the lanterns to locals and tourists, who release them in the rivers and canals for good luck. And the wish you think of, putting your lantern into the water, will certainly come true – just look into the face of this little wizard and you will be sure about!
