His Majesty Yellowstone, the Supervolcano. Is it going to erupt soon?

Why shouldn’t we visit Yellowstone? - my Dad asked me when I had planned our trip to the north-west of the USA. I had not heard anything about supervolcanos before but was happy to include it in our travel plan.

At the end of the day, the Yellowstone became one of the key points of our 3-week-long trip. So, let me introduce you to the Great Destroyer and Great Creator of new conditions of life, one of the most terrible threats to humanity and in the meantime one of the most beautiful places in the world. This is Yellowstone the Supervolcano.

Travel tips:

1. Yellowstone National Park is a great tourist attraction and a beautiful place to visit. Yellowstone consists of 300 Geysers including famous Old Faithful geyser and contains half of the world’s geothermal features like hot springs and mud spots etc.
2. Yellowstone offers virtually endless opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing, wildlife-viewing and any other outdoor pursuit.
3. To get the most out of your visit, make any necessary reservations, such as for campgrounds or cabins, well in advance, and plan the trip during the "shoulder season" to beat the crowds. Visitation peaks are during July and August, but the periods from May to early June and from September through mid-October offer a chance to experience the park when it's less busy.
4. Walking in Yellowstone, you must stay on boardwalks: the hot springs consist from water and acids and have a temperature up to 121 C.
5. Despite it is still the USA, there might be no wifi connection in remote areas, so advise your loved ones beforehand.
6. Never feed wildlife and never approach animals. It is dangerous both for you and for them.
7. To better plan your visit, please see the official NP information here.
